Since no resistance value is compatible with all environments, the NPort® 5100 Device networking server is equipped with jumpers that allow users to adjust the terminal resistance and pull-up/pull-down resistance of the serial port.

The NPort®5100 Device Networking Server supports TCP Server, TCP Client, UDP Server/Client, paired connection, or Ethernet modem modes to ensure API software compatibility with standard networks, such as Winsock or BSD sockets.

Easy troubleshooting
The NPort® 5100 Device networking server supports SNMP and monitors the status of individual devices over the network. Each device can be configured to automatically send a trap message to the SNMP manager when a user-defined error occurs. If the user does not use SNMP manager, you can also choose to send an email alarm. Users can use Moxa's Windows administration tool or web console to set the trigger conditions. For example, hot startup, cold startup, or password change triggers an alarm.
