SIMATIC S7-200 PLC is an open controller. It requires the S7-200 to be installed in the housing, cabinet or electrical control room. Only authorized personnel may enter the shell, cabinet or electrical control room.

Failure to comply with these installation requirements can result in death or serious injury and/or damage to equipment.

Always comply with these requirements when installing S7-200 PLC.

Keep S7-200 away from heat sources, high voltage and electronic noise

It is customary to install components that produce high voltage and high electronic noise separately from low-voltage, logical devices such as the S7-200.

When S7-200 is arranged on the back of the control cabinet, the heating device should be distinguished and the electronic devices should be arranged in the lowest temperature area in the control cabinet. Electronic devices working at high temperatures shorten their failure-free time.

Also consider the wiring of the devices in the panel. Do not place low-voltage signal cables, communication cables, AC power cables, and DC cables with high energy and high switching frequency in one cable trough.

Leave proper space for wiring and heat dissipation

The design of S7-200 equipment adopts natural convection heat dissipation mode. At least 25 mm space must be left at the top and bottom of each component to facilitate proper heat dissipation. The distance between the front panel and the backplane must be at least 75 mm
