The EDR-G902 is a high performance industrial-grade VPN security router with a firewall /NAT in one. Designed for Ethernet security applications in critical remote control or remote monitoring networks, it provides electronic security boundaries (ESPs) to protect critical network assets, such as water treatment systems in pumping stations, DCS systems in oil and gas applications, and PLC/SCADA systems in plant automation. The EDR-G902 series includes the following network security features:
VPN: A virtual private network (VPN) provides a secure communication tunnel for users to access a private network over the public Internet. VPN uses IPsec (IP Security) server or client mode to encrypt and authenticate IP packets at the network layer to ensure confidentiality and sender authentication.
Firewall: Firewall policies control network traffic between different trust zones, while network address translation (NAT) protects the internal LAN from unauthorized activity from external hosts.
The EDR-G902's Fast automation profile feature supports the most common Fieldbus protocols, including EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, FOUNDATION Fieldbus, Modbus TCP, and PROFINET. Users can easily create a secure Ethernet fieldbus network with a simple click of the user-friendly Web UI. In addition, Moxa PacketGuard technology (Deep Packet Inspection) filters Modbus TCP commands at OSI Layer 7. This product is available in a wide temperature model for reliable operation in hazardous environments ranging from -40 to 75°C.
