The EDR-810 is a highly integrated industrial-grade multi-port security router that combines firewall /NAT/VPN and Layer 2 network management switch functions. Designed for Ethernet security applications in critical remote control or remote monitoring networks, it provides electronic security boundaries (ESPs) to protect critical network assets, such as water treatment systems in pumping stations, DCS systems in oil and gas applications, and PLC/SCADA systems in plant automation. The EDR-810 series includes the following network security features:
Firewall /NAT: Firewall policies control network traffic between different trust zones, while network address translation (NAT) protects the internal LAN from unauthorized activity from external hosts.
VPN: A virtual private network (VPN) provides a secure communication tunnel for users to access a private network over the public Internet. VPN uses IPsec (IP Security) server or client mode to encrypt and authenticate IP packets at the network layer to ensure confidentiality and sender authentication.
With the EDR-810's WAN Routing Quick Setup feature, users can easily set up WAN and LAN ports to create routing capabilities in four steps. In addition, the EDR-810's fast automated profile capability gives engineers an easy way to configure the firewall's industrial protocol filtering capabilities, including EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, EtherCAT, FOUNDATION Fieldbus, and PROFINET. Users can easily create a secure Ethernet network with a simple click of the user-friendly Web UI. The EDR-810 is also capable of performing deep Modbus TCP packet inspection. This product is available in a wide temperature model for reliable operation at temperatures ranging from -40 to 75°C.
